What is a blog?

A blog is another digital communication tools most used in the network. In them the author collects and publishes information on a particular topic. There are plenty of issues and may not necessarily conform to one.

The sender of the message may give the option to the receiver to communicate with him. This can be done through a comments section or directly by email. They are also known in Spanish as English Log and weblog. It is the closest thing to a newspaper because its content is updated regularly and in a chronological order. each published news is called post.

Blogs as tools for teaching

Blogs offer many possibilities for use in educational processes. For example, to encourage students to: write, exchange ideas, work in teams, to design, visualize instantly what they produce, etc. Creating Blogs by students offers teachers the possibility of requiring them to perform synthesis processes, because writing on the Internet should be timely and accurate, in the topics covered.

Teachers can use blogs to reach out to students in new ways, without having to limit their interaction exclusively to the classroom. For example, publishing materials immediately and allowing access to information or resources required for projects and classroom activities, thus optimizing the time. It also offers students the opportunity to improve the academic content, endowing them with multimedia elements such as videos, sounds, images, animations or other Web 2.0.
